To flat tow your 2023 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk you'll need the following components:

Baseplate: I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521451-5 if you don't have active air shutters. If you do then you'll want the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX1143 instead.

Tow Bar: If you go with the Roadmaster baseplate you'll need the etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. For the Blue Ox baseplate you'll need part # e47ZR instead. These tow bars come with safety cables included and an adjustable head/shank to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Cherokee.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: If you do not have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you can use the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. If you do have them then you'll need the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM63MR instead.

Braking System: If your motorhome has hydraulic brakes then you'll want the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. This system does require tapping into the brake light switch, which isn't useable on your Cherokee so you'll need a Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751471 for the indicator light in this braking system.

If your motorhome has air brakes then you'll need the Demco Air Force One # SM99243. This system's indicator light activates off of a reed switch so you won't need the stop light switch kit with this model.

The battery will drain as you tow so I recommend installing a charge line # RM-156-25 to keep your battery charged while you tow and avoid having to deal with a dead battery once you reach your destination.

Some models of this vehicle may use Mortorq® fasteners. If your vehicle has these types of fasteners, you will need a PFMTS2E bit to remove them which can be ordered through a Snap-On dealer.
