Can Dexter Axle Disc Brake Actuator Be Used for Single and Tandem Axle Trailers

Wanting to convert from drum brakes to disk. Only have single axle brake right now. Want to buy tandem brake actuator in case i want to upgrade to more brakes later. Is there a problem with running a tandem brake actuator on a single axle.

Trailer brake actuators like the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX56FR you're looking at are rated more for the brake type and not necessarily a specific amount of axles since it has to do with the amount of pressure the actuator pushes into the brake lines.

If the 4-bole mounting pattern and the 7,500 lb weight rating matches your trailer application then this is a great option for you! Otherwise let me know what you currently have and I'll be more than happy to recommend some parts for you.

It's also worth noting that some actuators just need a different master cylinder to have the correct amount of pressure from drum brakes to disc brakes. Let me know what actuator you have and I can see if we carry a part that allows you to make this conversion.
