So unless your 5th wheel trailer a Sidewinder rotating pin box, you definitely want to go with a sliding hitch for your short bed 2024 Ram 3500 with the factory puck system. We really wouldn't want any damage to occur to the very nice (and expensive!) Ram truck, and using a fixed hitch doesn't give you any leeway when making tight turns. That's why - again, unless your 5th wheel has a Sidewinder - you want to use a sliding hitch, the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3670.

If you do have a Sidewinder, then you can absolutely use a fixed hitch without issue because there won't be problems with clearance; for that the right hitch for your truck is the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # BWRVK3600.
