Recommended Hitch for a 2022 Forest River Georgetown 31L5

Question:

I am looking for a hitch upgrade for my 2022 Forest River Georgetown 31l5. This motorhome sits on a 2021 Ford F53 chassis. Does the Curt 14082 hitch fit this chassis? Any other recommendations? Thanks!

I have a hitch that will work great for your Forest River Georgetown but the Curt item # C14082 will not fit. It's designed for a bunch of Ford and GM trucks built from 1963-1997.

For your motorhome on a 2021 Ford F53 chassis, I recommend the Curt Class V Universal Weld-on Receiver Hitch and Brackets with 3" Drop item # 15901. There are no custom fit hitches for your motorhome so you will need to use a universal one. This will be a solid upgrade!

The Curt item # 15901 has adjustable side brackets that can slide along the hitch to match the width of your motorhome's frame. This is a class V hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 15,000 lbs towing capacity and a 1,500 lbs maximum tongue weight.

Jered, Wondering how you determined this hitch will not fit on my F53 motorhome chassis. It has a 34” frame as required, and while the bolt patterns may not line up exactly, new ones could be drilled as needed. Is there another reason this wouldn’t work? Really looking for a bolt on, not a weldon hitch. Thanks!

@DennisR Like you just said, the bolt holes won't line up and you'll have to drill. The Curt item # C14082 is a custom fit hitch specifically designed for a few models of Ford and GM trucks from 1963-1997. That doesn't mean it won't fit other vehicle's like yours but you will have to drill. The bolt hole spacing on it is 31-1/4" apart, center to center though. You will want to measure from the middle of your frame rails to confirm this will work.
