Question:

Im building a 16 foot deckover trailer and want to use a 7000 lb Timbren silent ride suspension . The trailer frame is a 6inch c channel with 3inch cross members welded on top of the 6inch c channel Frame . what would i have to weld underneath the frame where the suspension system will mount so I have enough frame clearance ?

Expert Reply:

The Timbren Silent Ride Suspension # TSR7000T05 will require a 2" x 4 "hollow steel crossmember with 3/16 wall thickness to be welded between the left and right hangers. You will also need to weld the axle seats to the axle. I have included the diagram below for your reference. With a 6" c-channel and 3" crossmembers on top, frame clearance should not be an issue.
