Should Dexter Axle BrakeRite EOH System Be Upgraded to Hydrastar EOH System

Question:

So, I have a trailer that weighs around 15,000 lbs or 16,000 lbs with a boat on it. It is a triple-axle trailer with disc brakes, and it currently has the Dexter Brake Rite system on it. However, the current system is broken, so I was wondering if it’s worth upgrading to the hydraulic electric-over-hydraulic actuator or just sticking to what I have.

The Dexter BrakeRite II Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102 is a perfectly fine system so if it were me and I had a way to just replace something on it I would end up going that route. If you know what's wrong with your BrakeRite system just let me know and I can see what I can do to assist from my end of things!

With that being said, if you aren't happy with the performance of your BrakeRite or you'd like to upgrade your EOH (electric-over-hydraulic) system in the near future then I do recommend going ahead and replacing your current system with the Hydrastar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HS381-8067.

What this really boils down to is how happy you are with your current system vs whether you can/want to spend the money for a whole new system.
