Troubleshooting A Greystone Fireplace That No Longer Lights Up

Question:

my Greystone electric fireplace for my Grand Design Reflections fifth wheel does not light up. I think it was blown. I did see a spark when I turned it on one day. The heat still works yet no fake flame. Is this something I can replace? Thank you!

Unfortunately RV fireplace manufacturers will not offer replacement parts so when anything goes wrong it requires a complete replacement. The "flame" is really just a rod with a bunch of tiny mirrors on it that rotates and reflects the light up onto the screen to look like flames. The motor that spins the rods likely overloaded and caused the spark or the portion of the circuit board that controls the lighting is fried. To replace your unit you'll first need to remove the old one from the wall.

If you have a completely glass front you'll lift the entire front up off of the brackets that hold it in place. If you have a mix of metal and glass there will be a small trim ring that runs around the fireplace front that can also be lifted up to expose the the mounting screws. Now you'll either need to look for a model number on the fireplace or just measure the cutout hole to determine the correct fit.

The # 324-000068 you were looking at requires a 26-1/4" wide x 20-1/2" tall x 5-3/8" deep cutout hole.
