Can Thule Fit Kit For 2021 Chevy Colorado be Purchased by Itself

Question:

I have a Thule roof rack that I used on my 2009 Tacoma. I now have a 2021 Colorado extended cab and the “fit kit” or bracket that grabs the roof rail is too long. Can I buy just the brackets to fit my new vehicle? Thanks

So while just the brackets alone cannot be purchased, the fit kit for your 2021 Chevy Colorado can. But we definitely want to make sure what you get is compatible with your current Thule rack. If you have the latest Thule foot, called the Evo, then you can get the fit kit, with the correct one for your 2021 Chevy Colorado being the Fit Kit for Thule Evo Clamp and Edge Clamp Roof Rack Feet # TH145179.

I know that sometimes it can be hard to determine what you have, especially if it's older, so I have added a photo below that shows what your Thule Evo foot should look like. If you have the Evo, then you're set, but if you have the older Rapid Traverse shown in the photo, there isn't a compatible fit kit because Thule discontinued all of those older products some years go.

So if you do have the older foot, since there isn't a replacement fit kit, if you still wanted a roof rack you would have to go with a new one (which I realize is not what you were looking for, but I did at least want to give you the option). Your '21 Colorado (so long as it's a Crew Cab) could do another Thule roof rack with the WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, Evo Feet # TH710501 and aforementioned Fit Kit # TH145179.

Or, for a less pricey but still super effective rack, go with Rhino-Rack. It'll give you the exact same functionality but is a better overall value, and for your '21 Colorado Crew Cab the pars would be the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA126B-2, Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs # # RRRLKVA, and Custom DK Fit Kit # DK330.
