Can Different Weight Capacity Axles 7K and 9K Be Used On a Tandem Axle Trailer?

what happens if one axle, the rear axle, on my tandem axle trailer is rated for 7000 pounds and the front axle is rated for 9000 pounds?

The biggest issue you may run into is going to be with replacing parts since you have different capacity axles. You are most likely going to have different brakes as well which may react differently and may notice one set of brakes wearing differently. Also you will need to ensure both the axles use the same weight capacity springs and you would be restricted to a maximum weight capacity of 14,000lbs since the axles share the load evenly.
