Does The ACC Fuse In A 2014 Honda CR-V Need To Be Removed If A Charge Line Is Installed
Question:
I am installing the Blue Ox Patriot BLU37TR brake system in my 2014 Honda CR-V. I also installed the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 to ensure my battery stays charged. My CR-Vs owners manual says to pull the ACC fuse, which shuts off both 12V power outlets. Do I still need to pull that fuse if my battery is being charged whenever Im towing? Im just wondering if I really need to install a separate 12V power outlet wired directly to my battery, when it appears I could leave the fuse in and plug my brake system into one of the existing power outlets as long as my battery is being continuously charged by the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25.

You could possibly get away with not removing the fuse and installing a separate outlet # RM-9332 for your Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR, but you'll run the risk of draining the battery during your trip. The charge line kit # RM-156-25 is only giving your battery 15 amps so there's the chance that the Patriot along with anything else on that fuse could potentially draw more than it can keep up with, leading to a low or dead battery. Your logic isn't wrong, but I always prefer the safer route to avoid any hassles down the road.
