How to Determine the Axle Capacity of a 1978 25 foot Monitor Travel Trailer
Question:
I have a 1978 25 foot monitor travel trailer made by holiday rambler. It has a 2x 5inch box frame. The 2 axles are 2 3/4 inch diameter. Can you tell me the capacity of the axle? It has 15 inch 6 lug wheels. Studs used to put wheel on. Not nuts. Thanks for your help.

Based on the diameter of the axle that you listed most likely it is a 3,500 lb axle. However, there should be a plate near the coupler on the frame of your trailer that should have the axle and trailer capacity listed. That would be the final authority on the capacity.
