Comparing Maintenance Free Jounce Springs Versus Air Bag Helper Springs For 2015 Silverado 2500
Question:
2015 Silverado 2500 Liz duramax. Crew cab, short bed. If I’m looking to haul a heavy fifth wheel should these be as good as an air bag system? What are the determining factors to decide between timbrens or air bags? I like the simplicity of the timbrens but want to make sure I make the right choice.

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs # AL88338 are going to be far superior to the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK25D for your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 crew cab short bed. I personally only ever recommend the Timbren option to those who are always hauling heavy loads and want maintenance free. This is due to the springs being very stiff and when you drive without a load it makes the ride very firm.
If you prefer a maintenance free option the SumoSprings # SSR-203-47-2 are a much better option for occasional heavy loads since it is a progressive material and will absorb light bumps better when not loaded.
The Air Bags # AL88338 are my favorite option since you can adjust the air pressure to dial in your ride no matter what weight you are carrying. These also have an internal jounce bumper to help reduce bouncing which is common with other air bags. You can pair this with the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL74000 making them much easier to use. This has a smart manifold which monitors air pressure while you drive and makes adjustments if the pressure changes by more than 3psi.
