What Does Not Operational Low Battery Message of Roadmaster Even Brake Mean

Question:

Even brake 9400. 2016 Jeep Sahara. Worked fine when put away last April. Error message “non operational, low battery”. New 12v Battery. Shows 12.5 V at the terminals. Transmitter wired to 10 amp horn fuse. Tried both 12V auxiliary power ports with engine off and running. Same result. Recommendations?

I spoke with my contact at Roadmaster and he said if your battery is reading 12 volts you will want to test the 12 volt outlet that the remote is plugged into with a voltmeter. He said on the Roadmaster Even Brake System, part # RM-9400, the remote needs to be receiving 12 volts for the unit to be working properly. If it is receiving less than 12 volts through the outlet it will give the Not Operational - Low Battery message.

If the 12 volt outlet is not showing 12 volts you will need to install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit, part # RM-9332. Some vehicles do not have 12 volts at the power outlet and require the outlet kit. Or it is possible the fuse is blown for your cigarette lighter circuit.
