Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Turn Signals Cause Dim Activation of Other Trailer Lights
Question:
I need some ideas on an issue. I bought the T One 4 pole connector and the ran that to 4 - 7 pole adapter, ran the hot to the pos. on the battery. upon checking everything i turn on any signal L, R, all trailer light flash very very dim. There is a ground for the T connector as well as the 4 - 7 pole adapter, could I have bad ground? i have ran a seperate line from the battery neg side and that did not correct the issue. I am stuck!

It's either a weak ground or the converter box is bad and would need to be replaced. It sounds like the grounds have been checked so what I would recommend is using a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 to test all of the pins on the 4-way to see if there's any voltage when the blinkers are on. If not the problem is a weak ground. If so, the converter is bad and you'd need to replace the trailer wiring harness.
