Will The Thule RV Bike Rack # TH9057 Fit Inside a 2-1/2" Receiver With The Anti-Rattle Hitch Bolt?

Question:

I want to purchase this bike rack for my 5th wheel but would also like to use it for my truck occasionally. The only hesitation I have is that my truck has a 2.5” hitch receiver. I do have the adapter to make my hitch a 2” reviver but I’m not sure if the threaded hitch pin will reach through the 2.5” received. I hope this makes sense. I would like to know if the included locking threaded hitch pin will still work through my 2.5” receiver on my truck.

The Hitch Lock # THSTL2 used with the Thule Range RV Bike Rack # TH9057 is going to have a usable length of roughly 3-1/2". Since your 2-1/2" receiver is going to be less than 3" wide wide at the outer points where the bolt is used you will be able to use the anti-rattle and lock with your 2-1/2" receiver with the Reducer # C45405 as well.
