Can Rhino Rack Roof Rack for 2023 Toyota 4Runner be Used with Roof Top Tent
Question:
Hi, looking for options for my 2023 Toyota 4Runner with factory raised roof rails. I understand the weight limit for this product is 165lbs. I’m assuming that is dynamic weight? I have an 80 pound Go Fast Superlight roof top tent I’d like to mount. The tent, myself and my wife would clearly exceed the 165 lbs. Any idea what the static weight limit is? If this isn’t the right product, can you steer me into a product you would recommend for my tent? I can always go Prinzu but wanted to see what options are available to use the factory rails. Thanks!

The Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA126B-2 and # RRSX100 is a confirmed fit for your 2023 Toyota 4Runner and will work great with your roof top tent. The 165 lb weight capacity that you mentioned is a dynamic capacity and would indicate that it's (while unknown) static capacity would be enough for your roof top tent setup.
Since at this time most roof racks don't have a static capacity listed what most tent companies do is use the dynamic capacity. What we have found they'll say is that as long as the roof rack has a 165 lb dynamic capacity the rack will be fine to use at the tent's full capacity.
