Parts Needed For Installing a 6-Pin US Connector On a Vehicle With a European 7-Pin Connector
Question:
My vehicle is equipped with a 7 pin euro connector. I am looking to tow a house trailer with a 6 pin connector. Whatsbthe best way to make that conversion. Thanks for your assistance

The 7-Pin European trailer connector is completely different with its functionality than our US trailer connectors. Basically your 7-Pin Euro connector is designed to operate the same functions as what a US 4-way flat will operate. Since you have a trailer using a 6-pin you likely have a charge line and trailer brakes which is going to be needed which the Euro connector will not use. While you would typically just install a vehicle specific US connector since you have a Euro connector the wiring will likely be different and none of our plug and play options will work.
The Universal 7-Way # 22551 will allow you to wire in this connector and uses battery power so it will not add additional draw to your vehicles wiring. It will also provide the wiring for installing a Brake Controller # 90195. Then you will use the Adapter # HM47570 to plug in with your trailer 6-pin connector.
