Factory Installed Trailer Brake Controller On 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 Shows No Output When Braking

Since you have a factory style controller your best option is to take it to a dealer to have the software verified and updated if required on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This is often the issue since it is not a stand alone controller like most aftermarket options and instead it communicates directly with the computers already in your truck. As long as your factory controller shows it is connected before applying the brakes there is most likely nothing wrong with the trailer connector or trailer wiring which would indicate the issue is with something besides the controller.
