3 Bike Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2013 Toyota Prius

Question:

I see that this bike carrier is recommended for my prius plug-in 2013 toyota. I was looking for the review to see if somebody with my car recommended it. Since I didnt see any prius using it, I was wondering if it will fit mine. Any other recommendation for this car is welcomed. It is a leased vehicle, otherwise i would use a hitch carrier, but we cannot install one. Thanks for any advice.

The bike rack we recommend most that is also confirmed to fit your 2013 Toyota Prius would be the Thule OutWay 3 Bike Rack part # TH56BV. This is one of the trunk racks on the market because of its many great features and how easy it is to install/remove.

Most trunk racks use 6 fabric straps to secure the rack to the vehicle that can be annoying to adjust and could easily be cut if someone wanted to steal the rack and your bikes, the # T56BV uses only 2 rubber coated steel cables that are easily adjustable in length to secure to your vehicle.

This rack also has anti-sway cradles to help prevent the bikes from touching each while being transported. I attached a couple review videos for this rack being demoed on other Prius. We have heard from other Prius owners that this rack worked very well for them so I would highly recommend it for you.

I checked with Thule and the Thule Passage part # TH911XT is confirmed for your vehicle.

If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
