How Much Does the 3rd Generation Reese Goosebox Weigh?

Question:

Trying to compare the total weight of towing systems against each other: Reese Goosebox 94920 item RP85FR Vs Curt Crosswing item C32DR For the goosebox there is a lot of differing info on etrailer as to how much it weighs. Some experts say 220lbs, some say 195, others say 170. So which is it? I think what makes the issue more complicated is there are different versions of the goosebox most recent and the one I’m interested in is version 3 For the crosswing with included bed protectors I’ve seen weights from 60lbs to 70lbs but it doesn’t specify if this includes the piece that goes on the kingpin as well as the bed protectors. Just looking for the lightest weight option that isn’t an Anderson. If it’s within a few pins I’ll probably go with the goosebox for the added functionality. By the way this will be getting installed onto a 2024 Alliance Paradigm 395DS

The 3rd generation Reese Goose Box 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Air Ride Coupler Adapter item # RP85FR weighs a hefty 220 lbs. You're exactly right the generations have differing weights which is why you're seeing different information.

The Curt CrossWing Lightweight Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter item # C32DR weighs a modest 70 lbs. This includes the weight of the bed protectors along with the detachable head as well.

The 3rd generation Reese Goose Box item # RP85FR replaces Lippert 1621, 1716, 0719, Rhino, and Fabex PB 600 series pin boxes. If you're not sure what pin box your 5th wheel has then please feel free to email me back a picture of the sticker on your trailer's pin box and I will be happy to call Lippert and get you that information.
