Locating Brake Controller Port on 2006 Ford F-250 and Installation Instructions for Brake Controller

I have a 2006 f250 with frame mounted reciver and 7 point connector in place, but no controller. purchased usedhow do I identify harness connection behind access cover under steering column? Is controller mounted directly to removable cover?

The port is actually located behind the center console, underneath the radio. We have a video of brake controller installation on a 2007 F-250 that I will include a link to below. The video will explain how to tell if you have the integrated brake controller and it shows exactly how to find the port.
You can mount the controller in any location as long as it is stable and within easy reach of the driver. We mount it to the underside of the dash, just to the left of the cover I believe you are speaking about. Again, the video will show how we mount them.
If you have not already selected a brake controller, our best selling brake controller is the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. Most of the Ford users who decide to not use the factory brake controller opt for a Prodigy P2. I would recommend using the p2 # 90885 and the correct vehicle specific wiring harness for your Ford # 3034-P.
