Availability Of Lift Kit For A 2020 Big Tex 18’ Tandem 7K Axle Utility Trailer

Question:

2020 Big Tex 18’ utility round post, 7,000 lbs tandem axle…. Which lift kit? ‘16 Tundra with 10” lift and 38” tires, I need it up because I haul ATV’s and tree stands into woods and I need more clearance, and larger tires for my trip to Alaska. TY!

I am happy to look into this for you. We will need more information on your trailer in order to recommend the correct parts. Firstly, we will need to know if your trailer uses round tube axle leaf spring suspension, or torsion axles.

For 7K leaf spring axles we have the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # RR23QX, which will lift the trailer either 1-1/4" or 2-1/4".

For 7K torsion axles you can use the Torflex Lift Kit # K71-725-02, for a 3-1/8" lift.

As far as larger tires, it may be possible to go larger, but this will completely depend on how much clearance you have between the tire and the fender, and how much space is between the tires themselves. If you can tell me what size tire you have on your trailer currently, we can look at other size options. It will be up to you to measure your tire/fender clearance to determine how much bigger you can go. The lift kit will help with this of course. Our rule of thumb is that we want at least 3" between the tire and the fender and at least 1" between the tire and the trailer frame.
