Determining if 2009 Toyota Highlander Has Tow Package
Question:
I just asked about the towing capacity of a 2009 Highlander. I was told it was 2K. I found out that a tow package increases this to 5K. I looked this one up using the VIN and it does say that it has a factory installed under Port or Factory Installed Equipment TO Tow Prep Package Includes Factory. Can you tell me how to tell if this package is installed? I saw your video on a 2008 that mentions a connector under the dash. I think the package includes a larger radiator, alternator, and oil cooler plus this wiring. I would likely be buying the wiring, and hitch from you

You'd need to track down the window sticker your Highlander came with or give your VIN to a Toyota dealer and they'd be able to find out for sure.
For a hitch the part # e98858 would work great and has enough capacity. Then for trailer wiring the # 56042 would be correct for if the tow package was present.
