Will Ranch Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Fit 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and 2004 Ford F-350 Flatbed

Question:

I have a 2001 Dodge 1500, 5.9L, with a gooseneck ball in the bed and a 20004 Ford F-350 flatbed dually with a recessed gooseneck ball. I want to tow a 1998 Sportsman 24 foot fifth-wheel camper with either vehicle. Will the AM3100 adapter work on either truck?

The Andersen Ranch Hitch adapter, # AM3100, will couple to a 2-5/16 inch ball and it is height adjustable from 11-3/4 inches tall to 14-3/4 inches tall to compensate for the recessed gooseneck ball in your 2004 Ford F-350 flatbed. The 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 should be no problem.

On the flat bed you will need to make sure that the opening around the gooseneck ball is at least 6 inches in diameter or 6 inches square. The overall width at the bottom of the adapter is 5-1/2 inches so there will need to be clearance around it to allow the adapter to pivot.
