Troubleshooting Brake Controller that Is Getting Brake Voltage But isn't Functioning

Question:

My Tekonsha Sentenial brake control will not work when applying the tow vehicle brake peddle but when i use the overide lever on the brake control the trailer brakes will work, I checked the red wire coming from the controller and it has power when i press the brake peddle on the truck and when the brake peddle is released the power goes off. what could be the problem ?

You've successfully determined that your brake controller is bad unfortunately. It's getting the correct signal it needs to activate but since it's not putting out brake voltage that indicates that it is damaged and would need to be replaced with a more reliable controller like the P2 part # 90885 that you referenced.
