Recommended Longest Weight Distribution Shank for a 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
Question:
Looking at the 18 weight distribution hitch 7 raise 3 . I would prefer to have it in 2 1/2 rather then 2. Is that a possibility. I need to get trailer away from tailgate for golf cart transportation and would feel more comfortable with that little extra mounting into truck hitch. Thank you

The longest weight distribution shank that fits a 2-1/2" hitch receiver is the 12" long Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank item # EQ94FR. It has a 13" rise, 9" drop. This should be really close to clearing your tailgate depending on what kind of truck you drive and how far tucked under the hitch is. You'll want to measure to confirm.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank item # EQ90-02-4500 you were looking at is 18" long, and has a 7" rise with a 3" drop. You won't have any issues clearing your tailgate with this shank but it does fit a 2" hitch receiver.
Both of these shanks are compatible with most weight distribution hitches on the market.
