What Parts Are Needed or Recommended for Putting a Fifth Wheel Hitch on a 2008 Nissan Titan 8FT Bed
Question:
Hello, Im looking for a 5th wheel hitch for my 2008 Nissan Titan. I saw the Reese 16K which is recommended on this site for my truck. The truck I have is a 2wd Kingcab with an 8 ft bed. I need to know what other accessories including the hitch I need to purchase to complete the entire assembly. I will be towing a 2010 28 Springdale with a hitch weight of 1200-1300 lbs and dry-weight of 7100 lbs. Thank You

For your 2008 Nissan Titan, I would suggest the Reese Semi-Custom Install kit, part # RP30035-405. This kit has all the hardware you will need to get the truck set up for a traditional bed rail fifth wheel hitch. I have added links to the instructions as well.
Reese 16K Fifth Wheel, part # RP30051 is a fifth wheel equipped with a slider, which you will not need since you have a full 8 foot bed. Instead I would recommend Reese part # RP30047. It is the same as 30051 but without the sliders. I would also take a look at the Reese 18K M5 fifth wheel, part # RP30928. It has more weight capacity than what you need, but the larger head tracks more smoothly along the pivot points and the extra capacity would give you some room to grow.
