Recommended Replacement For A Tuscon 131903 Slide Out Motor

Question:

In 2020 the slideout motor in our 2019 Coleman lantern burned up causing the need for the fire department response. Due to my husbands health, his moths of hospitalizations and years of recovery and home care we were unable to take the measures to replace the motor, at the time it was not a priority as my husband life being at risk was our main concern. Now that life has settled down somewhat we are attempting to make the needed repairs required to utilize our trailer. Now we find the motor is no longer available. Was pulling that motor due to a risk we were unaware of that caused the fire? I noticed ours wasnt the only one that burned up from reading comments and questions. The date on the burned motor is 2018. What would it take to remedy it? What replaced it? I also read it would require an extra part to complete the replacement, the actuator. ??? The 131903 model #1-085-041-012

I spoke with Lippert and they confirmed that the 131903 Tucson motor that you originally had was discontinued and instead replaced with the Lippert Venture Actuator and High Speed Slide-Out Motor # LC168956. This is going to replace both the motor and actuator. This motor can pull up to 30 amps DC so I recommend installing an in-line 30 amp fuse holder to cut the power if there is a surge to prevent the motor from burning up like your previous one.
