Blue Ox Weight Distribution System for Trailer with 550 lb Unloaded Tongue Weight
Question:
I have a new camper, 5500 dry weight, 6990 weight limit, and a new 2023 F150 powerboost with the tow package. Tongue weight of empty trailer is around 550. I’m looking at blue ox products. Could you tell me which one I should buy? The bxw1000 or 2000? Or maybe a different option? Thanks?

When picking out a weight distribution you want to base it on the tongue weight range of the system and the loaded tongue weight of the trailer. If you go with a system rated too high the ride will be harsh or too soft it wouldn't be effective.
If when loaded your tongue weight is between 750-1,000 lbs you'd want the part # BXW1000. There's no way it would be high enough for the other system you mentioned. Most likely you'd want the part # BXW0750 which has a range of 550-750 lb.
