Recommended Hitch and Wiring for 2024 Volkswagen Atlas

I have a 2024 VW Atlas I want to put a hitch on. I will be towing with this so anything else I need please let me know.

For your 2024 VW Atlas I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76176. This is a Class IV hitch with a 2" receiver and a bolt-on installation. It has a max gross trailer weight of 6,000 lbs, tongue weight of 900 lbs, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

In addition to the hitch you will also need wiring. The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK89FR is the most reliable option available. This plugs into the connection points in your rear cargo area. Once installed, you will have a 4-way to power the lights on your trailer.

In order to complete your setup you will also need a ball mount. Check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
