Is Incandescent 921 Bulb Normally Pretty Hot
Question:
Hi, I just bought this lightbulb for my hood range. It fits and lights up but it gets pretty hot is this normal? Even though it fits im not sure if this one is for my hood. It does say to use trade number 921 light bulb. My range doesnt have a name on it. it says 12VDC and 3.0 AMP Also my original one that blew out has what looks like mercury or silver inside the bulb. Looks like the inside is painted silver or is that what happens when they blow out? Its not a clear bulb. Thank you,

It's pretty normal for incandescent bulbs like the 921 bulb part # VA0415-00 to get pretty hot to the touch so I wouldn't worry about it being hot. To get something that emits less heat you would need to go with an LED like the part # DI74ZR.
