Hello, Could you tell me which trailer hitch will fit an early 1970s dodge ram pick up truck? The width of the hitch mount would need to be 38.5”.

We do have a potential option for a trailer hitch that will fit your early 1970s Ram pickup. Unfortunately none of the custom bolt-on hitches we carry will fit a 38.5" frame. So your best bet will be to go with a Universal Weld-On hitch like the Curt # C99CR. This hitch has adjustable flanges and will fit frames up to 44" wide. The hitch itself is rated for towing up to 16,000 lbs. This is something that would need to be taken to a professional welder/fabricator for installation.
