Recommended Shackle Kit for a Triple Axle Trailer w/ 2.4" Shackle Links

Question:

I have a triple axle CRE3000 suspension on 6000lb axles with shackles measuring 2.4” from center to center. If I get the 2.25” shackles, will my trailer frame be slightly closer to the ground? How will it affect my suspension? my axle spacing is 35.5”. Is the Morryde UO12-023 Item # MR86ZR the correct one to purchase?

Expert Reply:

Yes, the 2-1/4" Long MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit item # MR86ZR will lower your trailer's frame closer to the ground. The only effect it will have is to ever so slightly reduce your suspensions travel.

The MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit item # MR86ZR is the correct replacement for your trailer because the 2-1/4" shackles are the closest option available in a kit to replace your 2.4" shackles. The wheelbase isn't as important when you're replacing the shackles as it is with the equalizes. The minimal reduction in length won't be noticeable.
