Will Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101 Fit 15-Inch Wheel with 6-on-5-1/2-inch Pattern

Question:

My trailer spare tire is on a 6 lug, 15inch wheel. The bolt spacing is 5inch center-to-center between opposite bolts on the diameter, and 2 3/4inch between adjacent bolts. I understand that only bolt spacing of between 3 3/4inch and 4 3/4inch will work with this carrier. Is that correct? Bolt spacing on my wheel is 4 3/4inch between one bolt and the bolt following the adjacent bolt. That is to say, on my 6 bolt wheel the spacing between bolts holes 1 and 3 is 4 3/4, if you number the bolts 1 - 6 going clockwise our counterclockwise, who cares!. Thank you in advance for your help.

Thank you for providing the photo of your trailer spare tire/wheel.

Based on your photo it appears you have the Dexstar Steel 15 x 6-Inch Spoke Trailer Wheel with 6-on-5-1/2-inch bolt pattern. This is our part # AM20532. This size wheel and bolt pattern are among those compatible with the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier # FHDSTC0101.

If you measure from the center of any hole on the wheel to the center of the hole directly opposite you should find a center-to-center distance of 5-1/2-inches. If this is the case then your wheel will fit the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier.

The linked article explains wheel bolt patterns.
