Weight Distribution Recommendation for Boat Trailer with Y-Frame Design and Surge Brakes

Question:

I need to tow a boat trailer with a Y-frame and surge brakes with my 2020 Jeep Gladiator, and Im unsure what weight distribution WD hitch I need. Most of the WD hitches look like they are for use with an A-frame RV trailer, and not a Y-frame boat trailer. Can you offer suggestions?

Thanks for all of the details!

To utilize a weight distribution system on your pole-tongue trailer I recommend installing the Pole Tongue Adapter # BXW4023 and then using a Blue Ox Sway-Pro weight distribution system that best matches your tongue weight. Load up your trailer as if you were going on a trip (keeping the tongue weight between 10-15% the weight of the trailer) and then measure your tongue weight. You'll want a weight distribution system that your tongue weight falls in the middle of the range for the best performance:

Tongue Weight Range
- 150 lbs - 350 lbs # BXW0356
- 350 lbs - 550 lbs # BXW0553
- 550 lbs - 750 lbs # BXW0756
- 750 lbs - 1,000 lbs # BXW1006
- 1,000 lbs - 1,500 lbs - # BXW1500
