Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Running Lights are Always On
Question:
Hi, I have a stock horse trailer WW brand, 1995. Last year I rewired the trailer and everything worked fine. Now, when I plug the trailer into the truck, the running lights on the trailer and truck come on, even with the truck is turned off. Where should I start?

Sounds like the trailer wiring harness of your vehicle shorted out and is now damaged. I would first check the trailer connector on the vehicle for obvious shorts or exposed wire and fix as needed as it could be just a simple short. Once you do that you'd need to go over the trailer's wiring looking for any cut or exposed wire that could be shorting out and fix as needed.
