This Pro-Series Weight Distribution System # PS49583 that you referenced uses a trailer ball that has 1-1/4 inch shank and is 2-1/2 inches long. The Curt # A-90 2 inch trailer ball that you referenced has a 1-1/4 inch diameter shank and is 2-5/8 inches long. I have confirmed with my contacts at Pro Series and the # A-90 ball will work without interference. The additional 1/8 of an inch length of this trailer ball should not cause any issues when used with this weight distribution system.

You are correct that the # A-90 trailer ball is rated for up to 10,000 pounds and this is consistent with the weight rating of your weight distribution system. You always want to make sure that you are not exceeding the lowest rated component within your towing system.

I have included a link to this product, and a video of the installation of the your weight distribution system for your reference.
