Wiring Harness For 1997 Chevy Express Chassis

Question:

1998 Roadtrek Van on 1997Chevy express 3500 chasis this Roadtrek van has a flat 5 wire harness to under rear bumper that never had a trailer flat connector hooked up. the wire colors are Red, Yellow, Orange, black and brown. None of the wires have any voltage and none seem to be grounded. the harness feeds up the passenger side rear corner and disappears behind paneling before getting to the tail light. i think the tail lights are custom for the Roadtrek. they are a flat connector. i cant find where the 5 flat wire harness goes up forward. there are no fuses that indicate trailer lights. Any help is appreciated. thanks

If there is no power to the wiring on your 1997 Chevy Express chassis, and there are no fuses or anything indicating power to the wires, the best I can offer is a new wiring harness that you hardwire in and will mitigate any wiring issues. What you can use that will give you a 4-way is the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C59236.
