Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2018 Ram 2500 Short Bed OEM Rail Kit

Question:

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with 6-1/2 foot bed. OEM installed 5th wheel package with puck recievers. Looking at an 18K or 20K sliding hitch. What do you recommend? Also, do i need to install brackets or rails? I have not purchased a 5th Wheel yet, but looking at one in 40feet, 14,000# GWR - do I need to consider the pin style for the hitch?

For your 2018 Ram short bed that has the OEM rail kit the best fifth wheel slider hitch is the B and W Companion slider part # BWRVK3670. This is widely considered to be the best option because the hitch is extremely well made, easy to use, and made in the USA. It also comes apart easy to make loading and unloading easier as well.
