Can Trailer Wiring of 2023 Honda Passport be Routed Underneath Vehicle Instead of Out Back Hatch
Question:
Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector Item # C56291 I dont want my harness going through the door seal and rubbing on the bumper facia. I have the Honda hitch receiver on a 2023 Passport. Can the harness be routed through the hole in the floor of the passport will the connector fit through? Is there a bracket available to mount the flat four position connector to the Honda connector mounting holes? If the answers are all, No, can the seven-pin connector harness be used without installing the brake wiring?

There is most likely a way to route the 4-way of the Curt # C56291 that fits your 2023 Honda Passport through the floor in the cargo area like you are wanting but we don't have a specific set of instructions on that since that's not how Curt designed the harness. You'd have to basically start taking apart the cargo area panels till you find the floor and look for a grommet in the bottom of it to pass the 4-way through. You may not find one but you could drill a hole with a hole saw kit and use matching size grommet.
To answer your other question...yes, you can use the Curt 7-way part # CU86FR without having the brake controller wiring active. It will function just fine controlling the taillight circuits. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
In general having the 4-way route through the back door is the best way believe it or not. It keeps the 4-way protected and out of the elements when not in use. This prevents damage and corrosion.
