Why Wouldnt Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Power On When Plugged into 7-Way

Question:

Hey the Bluetooth echo that hooks up to the 7pin doesn’t light up when I plug in in my 2016 vw touareg but when I plug it into my buddy’s pickup it lights up. Does that mean I don’t have 12v going to my trailer plug? The plug works for all my lights but not the controller ?

Yes, since the Curt Mobile Echo part # C51180 is not powering on that would indicate that the 12 volt accessory circuit is not active on the 7-way. It's actually pretty common that this circuit isn't active so what you will need to do is run 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 through a breaker like part # 9510 and you'd be set.
