Firestone Kit # F299 Installation on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Tied Into Air Horn System

Question:

I already have an on board air system for my air horns. How would I connect the bags to be inflated and deflated in the cab?

My contacts at the manufacturer did not recommend using a high pressure compressor like the ones that typically are used for air horns for an on board system to inflate the air helper springs.

The maximum PSI that the Firestone Ride Rite Air Helper Springs # F2299 is 100 PSI, and it is possible that with a high pressure output compressor, you might over-inflate the airbags very quickly.

If you would like an in cab option for inflating your airbags I recommend using the Firestone Dual Electric Air Command with a Standard Duty Compressor # F2178. This kit will allow you to make adjustments to the airbags while in the cab of your truck. The dual function switches allow for easy inflating and deflating as needed. It also allows for monitoring of the air pressure in the bags from your cab.

Thank you for including your photo of your current towing set up. The Firestone Compressor Kit # F2178 will be extremely helpful for you considering the variations of loads you may encounter if your towing needs change.

I have included a link to the instructions for installing this kit. Please keep in mind that all tubing should be cut square, and a Tubing Cutter # AL10530, or similar device is recommended for installation of this compressor kit.
