What Usually Causes Trailer Sway on Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a 2022 Momentum 350G fifth wheel and I replaced the factory installed rhino pin box with a MORryde pin box. Vertical elevation of the pin boxes are the same. I purchased a Demco auto slider 21k and now have a 2023 F350 super duty for towing. I towed this trailer with above components and it appears the trailer tongue sits a little bit low. Experienced quite a bit of sway. I believe I have the auto slider set at the mid position. If I move it up I should gain another 1.25” to help level the trailer. After I make the adjustment and test drive if I find that the sway is still present trailer not quite level what other options or next steps should be taken? Is adjusting the slider up to the highest position the correct solution to attempt? Is a suspension lift kit the correct solution? If so which brand / model would be suited for what I have described above? Are there pin box adjustment or adapter options available? Thank you

Trailer sway with a fifth wheel trailer is a lot more unusual than with a bumper pull trailer. I would suspect you actually have a broken suspension component that is allowing the movement to create the sway. I would recommend going over the suspension looking for anything damaged and replace as needed.

I would recommend getting your trailer sitting level though as that will allow the tires to wear better and the brakes to function better.
