Is There Way to Drop Trailer Height 5 to 6 inches so It Can Be Stored in Garage

Question:

I have a boat trailer with ST185/80R13D tires. The pattern is 5 on 4 1/2. I am wanting to lower the height of the trailer for garage door clearance. I need approx 5 - 6+ less height. The boat weight is approx 1000#. What would you recommend? Ive also attached pictures of the existing wheels/tires. Thank you!

There isn't a reasonable way to drop that much height changing tire/wheel sizes from what you have now. Reason being that since the diameter of the tire gets split on either side of the hub you would actually need a tire size that's 10-12 inches smaller in diameter than what you have now to end up with 5-6 inches less height. Your current tire size is right at 24.5 inches in diameter so you'd need to go down to 15 inches or so and that's just not really doable.

While we don't carry them the best recommendation I could make would be for you to put your trailer on an axle dolly when you need to store it so that you can take the wheels off, get trailer lower, and then roll it into your garage.
