Parts Needed For Scooter Trailer That Is Not Level When Towing Behind RV

Question:

Hello - I have a 4x 6 swivel trailer that rides on a slant towards my rv. While hauling my scooter, it tilts towards my rv. I need a 4 rise in my hitch assembly to be level. My TW is only about 325 lbs. Can I use the 048-4? Thanks.

Part # RM-048-4 is not to be used with any kind of trailer; they are to be used with towbars to pull vehicles behind RVs. They are not built to support the tongue weight of a trailer. Even though the part states that it can hold up to 400 pounds tongue weight and your trailer is at 325 pounds it should not be used. When towing a trailer, when the trailer hits a bump and comes back down it will be exerting more than 325 pounds of downward force on the tongue. This does not happen with a towbar system.

You need to select a ball mount that will keep the trailer level. You will need to measure the hitch height and coupler height to find our exactly how much rise you need. I have included a link to a page that shows how to select a proper ball mount.
