Compatibility of Hollywood Racks # HR1000Z-R-TRKAD Trike Carrier with OEM Hitch on 2012 Jeep Patriot

Will the HR1000R-TRKADP fit on a Jeep Hitch? Will it need an adapter, etc. ?

The Hollywood Racks # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP is meant for use on a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver or a Class III or IV hitch with a 2 inch receiver opening. It is not meant for a Class I receiver. The rack has an integrated adapter.
My research indicates that the factory hitch on a Patriot is a Class II, but you can confirm this by checking the sticker affixed to the hitch. If the weight capacity listed is 2000 lbs or greater, it is a Class II and the # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP rack would be compatible.
The rack has 8-1/2 inches of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the closest portion of the rack. To see if this is enough clearance, you will need to measure the distance from your hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward point of the back bumper. If this dimension is less than 8-1/2 inches, the rack will work great for you.
