It sounds like you're looking for the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. Before this can be installed you'll first need a 4-pole connector installed in your 2017 GMC Terrain. For this I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 56094. This wire harness will plug into your factory wiring and then plug into the 4-pole connector on the # ETBC7.
From there you'll have a black wire to run to the battery with a fuse for 12v power, a white wire that will need to be grounded to the chassis, and a blue wire that will need to be ran to the cab to connect to a brake controller. It will also include a yellow wire that can be connected to the reverse light circuit if you have a trailer with reverse lights. If not, you can just cap it off with some electrical tape.
If you have any other questions or need more part suggestions then just let me know.
