Trailer Hitch and 4-Way Wiring Confirmed to Fit a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse
Question:
Hi! I have a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse LS AWD, and am going to purchase a hitch and wiring kit. As I understand, I need a Turn Signal Converter, because my turn signals are not part of the brake lights? Can you confirm this, and suggest the correct wiring harness for my Traverse? 4 pin flat Thanks!

It sounds like your 2014 Chevrolet Traverse has a separate wiring system. Since that is the case you need a powered converter module to safeguard the vehicle's wiring and to provide enough power for the trailer lights. The wiring harness you will want to use is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56181 which includes a powered converter.
For a trailer hitch, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98863. This hitch has a bolt-on, no-drill installation and will provide you with a 2" receiver opening. The 2" opening is the most common size used for hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers and ball mounts. This hitch also has a nice matte black finish that I personally think looks nicer once installed.
You can add the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 to round out a tow package for your Traverse.
