Below the steering column, there is a bundle of wires tied together with white tape, located left of the brake pedal. This bundle of wires is the tow package for the brake controller. Carefully cut the white tape binding the wires, and pull the wires down from underneath the steering column.

The red wire of your tow package wiring will be run to the black wire of the brake controller wiring, the dark blue wire of the tow package wiring will be run to the blue wire of the brake controller, the light blue wire of the tow package wiring will be run to the red wire of the brake controller and the white from the tow package wiring will be run to the brake controller.

The orange wire would not be used.

I attached a link to an FAQ page that details how to install a brake controller in your generation of Chevy truck also.
