Will the Curt Custom Brake Controller Adapter # C51322 Work with a 1998 Lincoln Navigator

Question:

I am wanting to fit a Curt electric brake controller to my 1998 Lincoln Navigator. The brake controller has a 4 pin plug: black, white, blue and red and my pre wired navigator has 5 wired round pins in a six pin plug: black, white, blue, red and light green. After testing the outlet It would appear that the green wire is activated when the tow vehicle brake is depressed. Is this the way the optional wiring harness is configured?

The Curt Custom Wiring Adapter, # C51322, was designed to work with the factory brake controller plug on your 1998 Lincoln Navigator. The pin for the red wire coming from the brake controller should mate with the pin for the light green wire on your factory plug. It will be the middle pin and on one side you should have a pin with constant 12 volt power and the pin on the other side should have no power.
